Chicago Pneumatic Introduces Best-in-Class CP1117 one-HP Pistol Drill Line

Superior Price-Performance, Weight-to-Power and Durability for Heavy Industrial Applications

Chicago Pneumatic, since 1901 a quality leader in performance air tools, has announced the new line of CP1117 one-hp (750 W) industrial pistol drills offering the best handling and durability in its class.  Compared to competing heavy industrial drills, the new CP1117 pistol drills are lighter in weight for easier operation and more durable for a lower cost of operation.  Designed for a range of heavy industrial applications, including metal, wood and composite work, the one-hp line is available keyed or keyless in either 1/2- or 3/8-inch chuck capacity.  The 3/8-inch series offers a choice of three different speed models, 2600, 3200 or 6000 rpm, and the 1/2-inch is available in either 500 or 900 rpm models.

“The outstanding durability of the CP1117 models is a result of a combination of Chicago Pneumatic advances in tool alignment and gear design to yield improved runout tolerance and a more durable modular gearbox that lowers operating cost,” said Luis Clement, Vice President Chicago Pneumatic Tools.   In durability comparison tests, the CP1117 lasted ten percent longer than another leading brand in the heavy industrial class.

The superior operator comfort of the CP1117 is achieved by delivering one of the lowest weight-to-power ratios in its class and excellent runout tolerance for lower noise and vibration.  In addition, a teasing trigger, an ergonomically designed body and an adjustable soft side handle enable greater tool control and reduce operator fatigue.

The CP1117 series is expected to be of particular interest to the metal transformation industry, including metal working, construction and heavy production; manufacturers, including shipbuilding, rolling stock, wood and composite working; and the energy industry for maintenance operations on oil and gas, and mining sites.
