Ingersoll Rand Adds New Grinders to MAX Product Line

5102MAX Air Angle Die and 5108MAX Air Straight Die Grinders offer power, performance and comfort

ANNANDALE, N.J. — June 28, 2012 — Ingersoll Rand is proud to announce the addition of two premium die grinders to its MAX lineup of vehicle services tools. The 5102MAX Angle and 5108MAX Straight Die Grinders deliver the power technicians need to complete tough material removal jobs quickly.

The 5000 Series MAX Die Grinders offer 0.4 hp and 20,000 to 25,000 rpm motors, respectively. Each die grinder comes with a ¼” and 6mm collet. They feature an enhanced grip design so operators can run the tool for an extended period of time without fatigue. The 5102MAX has an exclusive spindle lock feature that allows operators to change out the abrasive, without the use of a second wrench, for faster abrasive changeovers.

MAX die grinders are ideal for challenging maintenance and collision repair applications including: descaling and deburring, prepping materials prior to painting, buffing, sanding, cutting, removing adhesive and gasket materials and for cleaning up brake hubs. The tools’ lube-free motor design eliminates oil contamination in the work environment and does not require daily lubrication, like many competitive products. Also, a piped-away exhaust kit comes standard with each tool.

“If you have a job where you’re working on a newly repaired fender — and you don’t want to have oil splatter as you smooth out the surface and prepare it for primer and paint, you can turn off the oiler or the lubricator and run the tool,” explained Andrew Mandel, product manager — surface prep and construction tools, Ingersoll Rand. “The tool can function in a lube-free state without causing damage to the motor.”

Ingersoll Rand has also refreshed its general purpose 300 series die grinders to complete its good, better, best die grinder tool portfolio. The new 301B and 302B Air Angle Die Grinders and 307B and 308B Air Straight Die Grinders have improved designs and convenient upgrades. The redesigned 300 series die grinders deliver solid performance at an economical price. They feature two different motor sizes, and are ideal for grinding, breaking sharp edges, de-burring and polishing applications.

For more than 100 years, vehicle service professionals have relied upon Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable and efficient environments, for quality and performance on the toughest jobs. Chicago Pneumatic Introduces Best-in-Class CP1117 one-HP Pistol Drill Line

Superior Price-Performance, Weight-to-Power and Durability for Heavy Industrial Applications

Chicago Pneumatic, since 1901 a quality leader in performance air tools, has announced the new line of CP1117 one-hp (750 W) industrial pistol drills offering the best handling and durability in its class.  Compared to competing heavy industrial drills, the new CP1117 pistol drills are lighter in weight for easier operation and more durable for a lower cost of operation.  Designed for a range of heavy industrial applications, including metal, wood and composite work, the one-hp line is available keyed or keyless in either 1/2- or 3/8-inch chuck capacity.  The 3/8-inch series offers a choice of three different speed models, 2600, 3200 or 6000 rpm, and the 1/2-inch is available in either 500 or 900 rpm models.

“The outstanding durability of the CP1117 models is a result of a combination of Chicago Pneumatic advances in tool alignment and gear design to yield improved runout tolerance and a more durable modular gearbox that lowers operating cost,” said Luis Clement, Vice President Chicago Pneumatic Tools.   In durability comparison tests, the CP1117 lasted ten percent longer than another leading brand in the heavy industrial class.

The superior operator comfort of the CP1117 is achieved by delivering one of the lowest weight-to-power ratios in its class and excellent runout tolerance for lower noise and vibration.  In addition, a teasing trigger, an ergonomically designed body and an adjustable soft side handle enable greater tool control and reduce operator fatigue.

The CP1117 series is expected to be of particular interest to the metal transformation industry, including metal working, construction and heavy production; manufacturers, including shipbuilding, rolling stock, wood and composite working; and the energy industry for maintenance operations on oil and gas, and mining sites.
